East of England Co-op is the first to join the Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre board
The Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre (ECRC) is delighted to announce its first board member as Richard Helliwell, Head of ICT Services, for the East of England at Co-op.
The ECRC is part of a network of centres being established across the country to provide businesses and organisations, with an affordable way to access cyber resilience guidance and services to help protect themselves from attack.
Richard oversees the day-to-day running of ICT services for the East of England Co-op, which comprises 200 locations and 4,000 employees. He is responsible for the full voice and data infrastructure for the business as well as their multiple IT applications and platforms.
Detective Superintendent Paul Lopez, Director of the Eastern Cyber Resilience Centre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard and East of England Co-op to our board. To have someone of his calibre, with in-depth knowledge and experience within the technology space, alongside his senior leadership skills can only benefit the ECRC and its members. East of England Co-op is a hugely recognisable high-street brand, and we are proud to be partnering with such a significant and prolific organisation which will help support us in driving our cyber security messaging.
Commenting on his new role with ECRC, Richard said: “I’m very much looking forward to working with the ECRC board and sharing our collective ideas, knowledge and experience for the greater benefit of businesses and organisations in our region. Raising awareness of the increasing and fast changing threat of cyber-attacks is incredibly important and so I’m proud to be able to play my part in supporting others to protect themselves.”
The ECRC board plays a key role in providing governance, direction, and oversight of the progress the Cyber Resilience Centre is making.
Businesses can join the ECRC through a range of membership packages to access guidance, tools, and affordable services to help better protect themselves against the threat of cybercrime.
